How to ensure Google Rank is not lost on your own website due to duplicated pages
If you sometimes referer to your Hotel's website as 'http://www.myhotelswebsite.com' and at other times 'http://myhotelswebsite.com' you are making life harder for yourself.
This is because Google will treat the two sites as two different sites. Splitting your page rank and doubling the amount of work you need to do.
The simplest solution is to decide which you prefer. Either is acceptable. Then stick with that decision and never waver. So in all your marketing and link building efforts maintain the same.
Additionally you should get your webmaster to place a 301 permanent redirect from the unused one to the used one.
He/she should also ensure that your homepage is displayed only as a '/' symbol e.g. www.myhotelswebsite.com/ and never use a technology specific ending e.g. www.myhotelswebsite.com/index.html as these again will dilute your Google Page Rank and make it harder to rank well.
